We presented at the IAOC event in Brussels today and we explained what buzz meant to business and put this in context of the growth in social media and the business applications that make most sense i.e. marketing ROI, Product launch support etc. The questions from the audience of communicators (business and academic) focussed a lot on who is buying the services and major interest in how the technology works. The answer to the first question is mainly in industries where buzz is a major factor (Emanuel Rosen has good site on this) and secondly the technology is search derived combined with analytics. If anyone would like a copy of the paper we did for the event please email info@attentio.com and we will send it on.

Kudos to Philippe Borremans et al for putting the event together, it was really interesting to be with this group and share ideas on social media and where communications people fit in all of this…

    Hi Simon,

Thank you for taking the time to come over and present. Feedback was positive overall and this will certainly not be the last European Conference of the IAOC.

Your service is one which gathers a lot of interest and I am sure we’ll talk again in the near future.

Don’t forget, you’re a member now so drop by at the IAOC Blog (http://www.iaocblog.com) one of these and participate in the discussions.

Maybe even host a blog week on the topic of online monitoring… Let us know.

    Dear Philippe,

I enjoyed the session, I got to meet some interesting people and the non-powerpoint way of presenting required more enterprise. It was definitely an international, eclectic group…

We would love to take part in the IAOC blog.

    See you later,
    Simon
